FAQ

You’ll start your day checking in at 8am at our retail location, where you can shop local gifts and souvenirs, then make your way down the street just 5 minutes to our Super-Raft. Here, our captain and crew will greet you and welcome you aboard for an adventure you won’t forget!
The Kona Explorer will leave promptly at 8:30am. With a breakfast snack in hand from Anahola Granola and one of our many premium local drinks in your cup holder, we will escape reality and head towards our first snorkel location. Be sure to apply your sunscreen at this time! We have a strict 15 minute rule – once you put sunscreen on you have to wait 15 minutes for the sunscreen to soak into your skin so it doesn’t come off in the water and hurt our reef. This is the perfect time so you don’t waste any time waiting once we have arrived at our snorkel location!
Along the way, you will be in awe as we cruise along the unique, picturesque Kona Coast. Keep your eyes peeled for marine life! The Big Island is home to many species of dolphins, whales, and rays.
Once we arrive at one of our exclusive snorkel locations, the captain and crew will secure the boat up to a mooring ball and the pool will be open! We have noodles on board, and a guide will be in the water with you to point out some of the incredible marine life you will see. After about an hour of water time, you will come back aboard where freshly cut fruit and more premium local drinks will be waiting for you. Then it is time to head to the next exclusive snorkel location. Yes, you read that correctly, we take you to TWO exclusive snorkel locations!
You will have about 45 minutes to an hour at the second location, and here is where we will serve you a picnic lunch. Fresh turkey sandwiches, or veggie sandwich for our herbivores, chips and a cookie will be handed out from the crew. Then, with smiles on our faces from a day for the memory books, we will make our way back to the Kailua Pier.
