Make it Memorable! Body Glove’s Sunset Dinner Cruise Perfect for Special Occasions

At some point in time, everyone is searching for a unique and perfect place for a special occasion dinner. Whether celebrating an anniversary, birthday or setting the backdrop for a romantic proposal, the perfect dining experience is paramount for pulling off a successful event.

Diners commonly search for a restaurant with an oceanfront view and a perfect table for sunset. However, for those living near the ocean or visiting tropical paradise, forget being near the water— be ON the water for your special evening. A sunset dinner cruise is about as ideal and unique as one can imagine for a romantic night out, and Body Glove Cruises in Kailua-Kona, Hawaiʻi offers delicious food with stunning scenery. A beautiful sunset is lovely, but add to the experience a pod of spinner dolphins jumping out of the water, and live Hawaiian music in the background and you have a dinner experience that is second to none.

Celebrate a special occasion or host a group event aboard Body Glove’s Kanoa II for dining, dancing and taking in the stunning waterfront views of downtown Kailua-Kona and the Kona Coast. The historical sunset dinner cruise offers up great food, specialty cocktails, live music and some of the most amazing views on the island.

The three-hour dinner cruise is a wonderful way to unwind from an ambitious travel itinerary or a hectic work week. Kick off your slippahs and relax on board with a specially prepared buffet style dinner made with fresh ingredients and a variety of dishes sure to satisfy everyone’s tastes.

Enjoy the entertaining and educational narration of the on-board historian who will take you back in time when kings and queens ruled the Hawaiian Islands. The boat is clean and luxurious as it takes guests 12 miles down the Kona Coast to Captain Cook’s monument, located in the famous marine sanctuary of Kealakekua Bay. Once in the bay, guests are served a Hawaiian style buffet dinner before heading back to the Kailua pier and enjoying a magnificent Kona sunset.

Chef Jared Boyd prepares a delicious dinner menu, including local favorites and delicious BBQ. Originally from Ocean View, his grandfather owns the Ocean View Pizzeria where Jared has helped out since was eight years old. He moved to Kona in 2014 and worked under Body Glove’s head chef, Jason Lofland for three years before taking over as head chef. When not whipping up delicious meals for Body Glove, he likes to prepare his favorite dish of enchiladas and enjoy Cincinnati Bengals games.

For every dinner cruise, Jared prepares a tropical fruit platter with local papaya, pineapple and other fruits. The main challenge is to not fill up on the delicious mango chutney cream cheese spread and Pulaluʻu sweet rolls, before the main courses are served. The entrees include Texas style BBQ brisket that literally falls apart in the mouth, along with Hawaiian style grilled chicken and a local favorite of Kalua pork and cabbage. Sides include vegetable rice pilaf, lomi lomi salmon and greek salad. Be sure and save some room for Chef’s choice dessert. Dinner includes one complimentary alcoholic beverage. Open bar is available.

If you have a special occasion you would like to celebrate aboard the Body Glove, let them know when you make your reservations so they can help you make the evening extra special!
